The Power Supply
The first item to look at is the power adaptor which supplies power to the radio transmitter.Does it have 3 pins on the plug and a green earth wire?
Most Pet Barrier dog fences only have 2 pins on the transformer. There is no earth pin for excess energy to be diverted away from the transmitter.
If energy through the mains or back through the boundary wire causes mild damage to the transmitter and it is out of warranty it will COST to have the transmitter replaced.
Question to ask - Does the warranty cover the transmitter for surge damage? Ours does!
Pet Barrier Transmitters
The transmitter sends the radio signal down the Pet Barrier wire and controls the depth of the radio signal that projects from the wire. A wire allows you to contour the area to give your dog maximum use of the yard, it's not a circular signal it can be square.Q. Is it a coded digital FM radio frequency that is not interfered with? Ours is!

How much does it cost to replace a damaged transmitter? 
During a thunder storm energy can travel back through the boundary wire and damage the transmitter. An external surge protector on larger property kits can prevent fusion damage. Our warranty covers fusion damage.Question to ask - Does the warranty cover the transmitter for fusion damage? Ours does!
Dog boundary wire.
Our wire can follow the contour of your property and so can define an exact area for your dog. It can be buried or attached to an existing fence for easy installation. If you have a garden in the centre of your property our Pet Barrier Digital FM Radio Frequency allows intricate designs to isolate a central garden bed. The dog can walk around the garden, pool or play area but can't get in.
- How strong is the boundary wire? Our wire is 2mm thick for added strength. (Broken wire = lost dog)
- Check the coating on the wire – High Density Polyethylene (HDPe) will last longer than PVC.
